I started Abilitee with one goal: to design stylish adaptive clothing and accessories for chronically ill and disabled people. Over the past few years, we’ve grown our mission to include advocacy, sustainability, and community-building, because we believe all of these to be necessary parts of a changing global industry. Why is this important? Because in a truly inclusive world, ‘adaptive’ won’t be its own separate clothing category, it will be a consideration for all designers to think through, when designing mainstream fashion lines.
We want our clothes to be both fashionable and functional. This is why we work closely with the disability and chronic illness community to design adaptive clothing that fulfills needs their specific needs.
We believe in local manufacturing with ethical pay. Currently, all of our products are made in Austin, TX - where our office is located.
We currently offer up to 4XL, and are committed to increasing our sizes as we grow.
We use recycled packaging and source as many sustainable materials as possible. Our 2022 goal is to have all sustainable products by the end of the year.
We love these bag covers! They make us smile even when we just put them on! When you have an Ostomy, laughter is important!
